We're moving!!!!

Ok, not us. The blog is.

A few of you out there know that I actually have TWO blogs.
More like two versions of the same blog: Casa Haus, and Casa Haus Spanish.

It has really been difficult for me to keep both of them updated, so I've made the decision to put them both together, and I'll be writing my posts in both English and Spanish, but on the SAME blog.

So, our new address is:

Come on over! We'll have fun!!

Oh! And don't forget to follow Casa Haus over there!

Thinking Outloud

I just realized something. All of my favorita kitchens are white.
And I've got pictures of them too.

via

On the other hand, I've been doing some thinking. Ever since we got married two years ago, we haven't really done anything house-realted. There are sooo many things I'd love to do to make it more ours, if you know what I mean. We haven't been able, mainly due to a lack of both money and time, but this time I'm determined to do something about it. Of course those are big issues, but I'm hoping to jump the barriers and start now. It's my New Year's resolution.
So my first project, our kitchen:

To be more specific, my first project is painting my kitchen cabinets white.
Mi inspiration: all those fabulous white kitchens out there!

This is nerve-wrecking.

I need to know your opinion. What do you think about it?
I must confess I have no clue on how to paint furniture. But, I like researching and reading about other people's experience, and I'm somewhat a perfectionist. That must help, right?

So, if someone out there reading this knows how to do this, or has any suggestions for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Green Space

I can't get enough of this great balcony. Lack of space isn't enough reason not to have a beautiful green room for your own.

Love it!

Places - Canibal Royal

This Christmas holidays, I made a new style discovery. I'm talking about the great Canibal Royal, in Playa de Carmen, in gorgeous Mexican Caribbean. I love it not only because its amazing style, delicious food and wonderful mood, but also because of its oh so lovely design.

Canibal Royal is a restaurant and beach club in north Playa del Carmen, right at the beach. With a 50's style, the place is decorated with hip furniture, trendy patterns (just see the bar at the back) and a relaxed atmosphere. The perfect thing to enjoy the beach.

The place is a really wonderful, and a total inspiration for a design-lover like myself. I enjoyed talking pictures almost as much as I enjoyed the place itself, for everywhere I looked was a picture spot. My favorite shots, though, are the boats by the sea, and these last ones, which were taken when the sun set. The sky turned pinkish, the light was perfect, and then, the lanterns where turned on. Honestly, could I ask for more?

By the way, if your ever in Cancun or Playa thel Carmen, you definitely want to consider going to grab a bite there. No regrets.  ;)

House Inspiration - House with Beautiful Balcony

Simple, and yet oh so divine!
I love white over white, with a few splashes of color here and there in details.
The balcony is definitely one of its best attributes. Love it!
Wish I could be out there, enjoying the great view.

P.S. Does anyone know the name of the flower on the table out in the balcony?

Living Rooms -Winter Wonderland

Nothing like a cozy living space for the winter afternoons.
I heart this living room, with it's light, damasque curtains.
Just perfect.

Textures such as the knits and fuzzy pillows,
add the extra winter touch.

The very perfect Winter wonderland for me.

Do you do winter touches at home?

Cool Art for Childrens' Rooms

I recently discovered Flavia, a Mexican ilustrator.

I am so in love with her work.
It's got the quality of making you dream and imagine stories.

Starts up your mind,
as any good ilustration does.

I really heart them.
And, I can picture them in a kid's room.

In fact, Flavia also designs wall decals.

If your interested, check out her blog.

There's really cool stuff.
Speaking of kids' rooms, I started 2011 cleaning and organizing my daughter's room. We were there together, all morning, doing her closet, drawers... just about everything. In the end, it was worth it, and we rented a movie to watch later that afternoon. A great treat for a great job! And such an excellent way to start this year.

I've got many plans for my home this 2011, but I have to concentrate on organizing first. Of course, I'll keep you posted. I know for sure there'll be tons of monsters creeping out of everywhere, but at least I'm done with one room!
